Adiós Querida Luna

We’ve been tracking this one for what seems like an eternity but Nonzee Nimibutr’s big budget martial arts fantasy epic Queens of Langkasuka finally has an official release date - it’s hitting Thai screens in October - and a new, extended trailer to celebrate. The early press has not been particularly kind - I think you can really feel the compression from two films down into one - but Dan Chupong and Ananda Everigham are both their normal, charismatic selves and there’s loads of eye candy to be had. Check out a pair of trailers for the film below the break.

Mmm… I’ve been looking forward for this one. To bad it couldn’t get the two movie treatment. It looks truely epic. Todd, you seem a bit timid on comments, sure the compression of two movies into one must affect the final product, but is it still a decent movie? Apart from saying that Dan Chupong is good, it seems that you didn’t let alot of appreciation transpire…

It feels really, really rushed most of the time, jumping form plot point to plot point constantly without giving any of the characters much time to breathe or develop. And it actually takes a while to find its visual style in the early going. Lots of eye candy, though. Dan and Ananda are both quite good in it, it’s probably the best work Dan has done.

Thanks Todd. I think it’s saddly pretty much what should be expected due to the situation…
