The Worldwide Short Film Festival launches here in Toronto June 12th, featuring hundreds of the best short films around the globe. Want to know which look like the best bets? We’re going to archive as many trailers and things for Festival shorts as we can here. Onwards!

The Patterns Trilogy. Director Jamie Travis is one of the best things going in Canuck film circles these days, our very own Tim Burton / David Lynch hybrid with style to spare. The website for his Patterns Trilogy - all three of which are playing at the fest - includes trailers, stills and all sorts of goodness.

Kamikazee: Fighting Fighting This Is. We’ve plugged Avid Leongoren’s work a few times, you’ll find the complete video linked here.

Shaun the Sheep: Still Life. Thirty seconds of this short featuring Aardman Animation’s favorite ovine are included on the official Shaun the Sheep website.

458NM. The trailer for this brilliant piece of German animation can be found on the film’s official website.

Demonology of Desire. It’s the latest from Rue Morgue’s Rodrigo Gudino and we’ve got the trailer here.

The Intergalactic Adventures of Jaime De Funes and Arancha. We’ve been hosting the trailer of this for ages, it’s about time people started noticing.

Avant Petalos Grillados. Everything we said above? Ditto. You can get the trailer here.

Death To The Tinman. We wrote a fair bit about director Ray Tintori’s previous short, Jettison Your Loved Ones, and his most recent is available at iTunes.

Silence Is Golden. The director of Who I Am And What I Want returns to the festival with his latest - a blend of live action and animation. You can find it on the BBC Film Network website.

Bows and Arrows. With characters names The Big Fat Weevil, The Caretaker and an Evil Robot, what’s not to love? On the BBC Film Network.

Dog Days. Stellar French stop-motion, it’s like Aardman on crack. Online at Qoob.

Rec Room. Animated, anti-smoking PSA by Chel White. Online at Boards Mag.

Park. More madness from Chel White, also online at Boards Mag.

Rabbit. Just plain, flat out brilliant. And the less you know the better. Just go watch the opening sequence RIGHT NOW. On director Run Wrake’s official website.

Potapych: The Bear Who Loved Vodka. Drunken bears are funny. And online.

Happy Birthday 2 You. Opens up like a straight up drama, then it gets weird ... and it’s online here.

Beasts. Primitive and bloody piece of animation. Check it here.

The Making of Galdiator. Poor Russel Crowe’s having trouble keeping covered up in his toga. Online at Atomfilms.

Incomplete. A man wakes up to discover his penis has gone missing overnight. Check the trailer on MySpace.

Anniversary Present. Online at the official production company website.

Hombre Kabuki. Love in a luchador mask. Trailer on the official site.

D-I-M: Deus In Machina. It’s one of the most ambitious sci-fi shorts I’ve ever seen and the trailer is on the official website.

Terreur Au 3918. French Canadian sci-fi, you’ll find the teaser here.

Isabelle and Stuart. It’s geeks in love, jumping through time. Awwww. Find it here.

X. It’s clones in space in this German animation. Trailer on the official website.

Codehunters. Sci fi? Western? Anime? Yep. Online at Boards Mag.

That takes you through the Sci-Fi: Out There, Slap ‘N’ Tickle, and both Midnight Mania programs with a few other things thrown in. More to come tomorrow.
