Be Kind, Rewind
If you don’t have it yet there will be an Region 1 edition of Wilson Yip’s Flashpoint coming out on April 22nd via Dragon Dynasty. I for one think that Wilson Yip is doing his darnedest to revitalize and otherwise struggling HK action film industry. Sure, the story isn’t the greatest aspect of this film, I thought it was its weakest point, but Donnie Yen more than makes up for that shortcoming with some amazing martial arts action. Flashpoint is end-heavy with the action but it is worth the wait. And this edition isn’t so bad considering the extras you get on it. I’ll restrain myself and show minimum concern that the covers of DD releases are starting to look the same.
Special features will encompass: three deleted scenes, a behind-the-scenes gallery ("Collateral Damage: The Making of Flash Point”, “Flash Point Explored” and “Perpetual Motion"), “The Ultimate Fighters” ("Gladiators" and “M.M.A. on Display"), Promotional Gallery ("On Dangerous Ground: An Exclusive Interview With Leading Man and Action Director Donnie Yen”, “Gala Premiere” and “Trailers, Teasers, TV Spots") and the ubiquitous Bey Logan commentary. Flash Point runs for 88 minutes in an ‘R’ rated widescreen presentation with audio tracks available in: Cantonese Dolby Digital 5.1, Cantonese DTS and English Dolby Digital 5.1. Subtitles support Spanish and English.

Own it. Bought it 2 months ago in San Francisco at the Haight St Amoeba.
Transfers beautifully and the cover is the guy with his ear shot off.
Sweetnnice, fuck you DD

Hey, it’s actually got it’s original title!

It gets to keep its original title because the original title was already used for a Kris Kristofferson movie in the 80s. Dragon Dynasty can’t be bothered to change a title unless the title they’re changing it to has already been used; we’ll just set ROB(IN)-B-HOOD aside for now, as it’s close enough to ROBIN HOOD for the Weinsteins to only change it a little bit. Since the original title FLASHPOINT was already used, no problem letting this through unscathed.
