We Got Video!

Or, at least, we will soon.

The lovely and talented Opus is hard at work behind the scenes to integrate a video player system into Twitch, the goal being to create the ultimate online repository of trailers and video clips from around the world.  Sure, YouTube’s great and all but it’s big and unwieldy and difficult to find things there and since you’re coming here for your international film news anyway, hey ... what the hell, right?  It’s a time intensive process, though, and we’d like to have a decent selection of videos available once things bow in public and so we’re asking for your help.  Got a library of trailers stashed on your hard drive?  Upload ‘em!  That’s right, we’re accepting public submissions so get on out there, find the good stuff, and load it in.  Good karma will accrue.  And all you film makers out there?  Looking for a site to host your short films?  This is it!

The video player should be fully functional soon, in the mean time hit the link below to upload files.  You’ll need a Brightcove account to do it, but sign up is painless.

This is a great idea, especially for someone like me who’s always on the hunt for trailers! IT would be nice to have a one-stop shop to see the world’s best and brightest. I’ve already uploaded a few contributions myself and have a TON more that I can share. Will the videos be downloadable or only streamed Todd?

Yes, I’d really love to see this feature here. I have loads of trailers to upload, but are there no restrictions? Any trailer for any film will do? A list of those already upped would be great so that we don’t upload dupes.

It’ll be streaming only due to the way the content provider is set up.  I’ll try to post an updated list from time to time until we take it live.

Just movies, or festivals as well? I can come up with a few festival trailers for you…
