Well, the good news is that Japanese actor Yosuke Kubozuka of Ping Pong and GO fame is finally back in action following the fall he took off of his apartment’s balconey.  The bad news is that the film is directed by Kenta Fukasaku, the man responsible for the horrible Battle Royale sequel.  No trailer yet, but the website is here.

Oh, I thought Yosuke Kubozuka actually didn’t survive his fall. Well, that’s good news then.
Also, I’m curious to what Kenta Fukasaku can do. I mean, let’s cut the guy some slack. It’s probably not easy if you have to finish a sequel to Battle Royale because the director, who also happens to be your father, died.

I honestly don’t think BR2 is all that horrible, nor do I think Kenta is a bad director.  I’ll be looking forward to checking this one out.

Yeah, I probably shouldn’t be so hard on Kenta ... that had to be a tough shoot and, if nothing else, BR2 certainly looks fantastic ... I just thought it was a huge let down after the original, though, particularly how they changed Shuya’s character and the absolutely horrible over-acting from Riki Takeuchi, who I normally quite enjoy ...

It’ll be interesting to see what Kenta can do with something that’s his from start to finish ...

The original is pretty much perfect, in my opinion.  It’s hard to top that.
