Two Theatrical Teasers For Pascal Laugier’s Punishing Horror Film MARTYRS

A couple days back we linked to an English subtitled trailer for Pascal Laugier’s Martyrs that turned up on YouTube. Now that promo spot was not the highest of quality on the video end and was a bit spoiler-y as I believe it is actually the sales promo used to promote the film in international markets and not meant for public consumption but today we’ve got beautiful, high resolution versions of the first two theatrical teasers for the film. Beautiful, of course, is a relative term, especially when applied to teasers for a brutal, nasty little film that harshly divided audiences in Cannes and is now the subject of a ratings battle in France. This is looking better by the day. The first teaser didn’t do anything for me, but the second was really creepy. The whole thing so far reminds me of Los Sin Nombre ("I’m gonna be a saint").
