Two Clips From Abel Ferrara’s Strip Club Comedy GO GO TALES Wtih Dafoe, Hoskins, Modine and Argento!

The continued lack of a proper trailer for Abel Ferrara’s Go Go Tales is, frankly, pretty baffling to me. You’ve got a cult director helming a film set in a strip club operated by Willem Dafoe and Bob Hoskins with Matthew Modine and Asia Argento in the cast, the film premiering as part of Cannes 2007. This is not a hard sell, people, all you need to do is put it out there and people will come but here we are, nearly a year after the film premiered and still zilch. Nary a trailer in site. Happily, though, I have just managed to track down a pair of clips from the film so you can see things in action. Action being the key word. It’s a strip club film from the director of Bad Lieutenant, people, so no these are not work safe.
Go Go Tales recounts the tale of one fateful evening in Paradise. Ray (Dafoe) and Jay (Hoskins) face imminent foreclosure by the landlady when Johnny (Modine) tells Ray he is no longer willing to lend him the money to keep the club open. Things have gotten so bad that even the dancers are threatening to “strip-strike”, and to make matters worse, Ray has lost their winning lottery ticket!
