Wow ... I didn’t see this coming ... The Pusan Promotion Plan has announced twenty seven film projects that they will be supporting and alongside new titles by Fruit Chan (Neon Glows in Myanmar - with a title like that I can’t help but hope he’s working with Chris Doyle again) and Kim Ki-Duk (Beautiful) is an untitled world war two movie from Tetsuo The Iron Man’s Shinya Tsukamoto.  All that’s known at this point is that the film - known just as The War Movie Project at this point - will be a big budgeter set in the Philipines during World War II.  I cetainly wouldn’t have called Tsukamoto working on this sort of material but I can see this being something truly exceptional ...

That’s a very good news. As for your comment “I cetainly wouldn’t have called Tsukamoto working on this sort of material” I don’t agree. I remember he said in an interview that he loves human decrepitude and he would like to direct a war film where dead bodies are laying on the ground in decomposition as nature is taking back what belong to it. At least we know one scene of his next film :D
    Regards.
