Well, well ... the trailer for Alexadre Aja’s Mirrors, a remake of a Korean film, has arrived online and it’s looking much better than I expected it would.  Kiefer Sutherland looks great in the lead role and the mirror effects are simple but truly unsettling.  This first teaser is a brief one but it’s certainly got me wanting to see more ...

Really Todd, “Looking good”? This trailer is so generic it hurts. Looks like something Sam Raimi produced (which is far from a compliment).

It looks nothing like the original. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but this one doesn’t look that great either.

Hey, you guys should check out the international version of the trailer. It shows a bit more gore and has a few more extra shots.  It looks much better than this version which by the way does not look at all like Aja’s work.

This was in front of the Happening.  Looked pretty generic to me too.  Harsh reliance on sound-cue jump-scare kinds of stuff.  And the ‘creepy kid’ thing has been done to death.  That being said.  The first kid-mirror reaction shot is darned effective.

I want to see Aja working on original material and not useless remakes (even if his THHE was much better then the lame Craven-flick)! Next is Piranha 3D. At least that should be fun.
