Tom Savini Brings The Old School Gore In SEA OF DUST

Okay, while that headline is technically true it is also a little bit misleading.  Sea of Dust is a new indie horror project from writer-director Scott Bunt and while it certainly plays it old school with the effects Savini’s involvement here is as one of the lead actors in a cast that also includes Stuart Rudin and Hammer Films icon Ingrid Pitt.  The effects - which look stellar - are from Wendigo effects man Josh Turi.  The story sees Savini in the villains role as an evil power threatening a small town and, as you’d hope, things get bloody fast.

The picture itself was shot in high definition and will be presented as such but for this teaser they’ve laid on some grindhouse inspired aging and print damage and, honestly, I kind of think they should apply it to the whole film ... you’ll find the teaser in the Twitch Player below the break.

    Heh, reminds me of that stellar trailer for Ti West’s The Roost.

    This actually looks like it was made in the 80’s. Hopefully the film is as promising as the trailer.

    I don’t know, this looks awesome!  A modern throw back.  Agreed, on the Grindhouse effects throughout, let’s hope they apply it for the length of the film!
