Almost Famous
The Stunt People are a pretty familiar name around most martial arts boards online. The San Francisco based martial arts group train together and have produced a healthy number of low budget shorts and features over the past few years. Now, really, calling them low budget is fairly generous. This is no budget film making, but what the group lacks in funds they largely make up for with enthusiasm, a sense of humor, some pretty serious skills, and a willingness to sacrifice the body.
Well, I just got a note from Micah Moore - currently at work prepping his own low budget feature, Chinatown Dick - just dropped a note pointing out that The Stunt People’s latest short - Undercut, the story of a government employed ninja replaced by a lower paid immigrant ninja - has been nominated for an MTV Award. The category that they’ve been nominated in runs on fan voting, so you know the routine ... check out the film and if you care for it, toss a vote their way ...

Didn’t have time to watch all of it. But they’ve got some great energy and creative choreography. Low-budget action often entertains me and makes me I wish i knew a team of martial art pros to direct.
