Confession of Pain
The sequel to Russian blockbuster Shadowboxing - it held the box office crown there prior to the juggernaut that was The Nightwatch - is poised to hit screens soon and a second trailer has just arrived. The first trailer played heavily on the drama and romance elements of the story but this one looks every inch a big, glossy action film of the sort that would do Bruckheimer or Bay proud. The boxing scenes, in particular, are excellent. Here’s the synopsis:
The fight is far from over. Young boxer Artem Kolchin has made a come-back despite all odds, and is ready for a rematch. But in the wilds of America, the boxing ring is the last of Artem’s worries. Artem and his opponent will have to test their strength and bravery against a real enemy before they can go head to head in the championship.
The major weakness of the original Shadowboxing was that it tried to do too much and lost focus as it went on. IF they can scale this one back just a bit - and it looks as though they have - it could be something pretty special.
