Oh, glory!  We’ve been eagerly anticipating the return of Marc Caro - former cinematic partner to Jean-Pierre Jeunet - for quite some time now, his career a seemingly never end string of collapsed projects since the duo parted ways after Alien: Resurrection and so we’ve been simply ecstatic first that he finally got a project off the ground - French scifi epic Dante 01 - and that it’s finally nearing release.  We’ve linked to several trailers and clips in the past and now the entire opening sequence - a shade under three minutes long - has been released online and we’ve got it below the break in the Twitch Video Player.

Deep space, at the edge of the galaxy. The future. A new prisoner arrives on top-security prison ship and psychiatric research unit Dante 01.  Sole survivor of an encounter with an alien force beyond imagining, Saint Georges is a man possessed by inner demons, caught up in the battle to control the monstrous power within him. It’s a power that will infect the other highly dangerous occupants of Dante 01, [jailers] and prisoners alike, unleashing a violent rebellion that turns this terrifying, labyrinthine world upside down. In the otherworldly hell of the ship’s depths, through danger and redemption, each must journey to his very limits… each must confront his own Dragon.  A unique science-fiction nightmare vision, Dante 01 is the long-awaited solo debut from the legendary co-creator of The City of Lost Children and Delicatessen.

It looks really pretty but I just keep getting reminded of “Event Horizon” with this movie.

About time we had French visionaries back on the screen - Event Horizon will pale in comparison, trust me.

Considering I had no idea what was being said, this movie looks pretty sweet.
