STORM RIDERS Gets Animated

It’s a good time to be whoever holds copyright on The Storm Riders.  Not only is there the upcoming Pangs Brothers sequel to the original hit movie in production right now but original helmer Andrew Lau is reportedly also working on his own competing sequel and 2008 will see the release of a new animated project based on the Storm Riders stories.  Nothing has popped up from the Lau version just yet but regular reader cpa314 has pointed the way to the trailer for the upcoming animation.  Now, other than the McDull movies Hong Kong doesn’t exactly have a stellar history with animation but this could well prove to be a major cross over success.  Not only is it based on a hugely popular property but it actually looks, you know, good.  You’ll find the trailer in the Twitch Player below the break.

So the Andrew Lau STORM RIDERS 2 isn’t dead yet?  It must simply be resting its eyes for a moment.

Have you posted this before? I remember seeing this months ago, and if it wasn’t here I’m not sure where it would have been.

Actually Todd, a Mainland China(not HK) animation house is handling this movie. They are called Puzzle Animation Studios. Never seen a Chinese animation before so this’ll be my first

@ cpa314, if you have never seen a mainland China animation then check out
“Thru the Moebius Strip”, a 2006 release. Saw that one quite some time ago. Pretty good animation movie.
