That’s a nice, low-key teaser poster. Sony Classics would be wise to use it instead of whipping up some in house junk, and I do mean junk, as they did last time Chow had a movie coming out here. It scares me that someone gave that yellow piece of corn-studded doo-doo the go-ahead to be exposed to the public. If the person responsible happens to read this - don’t take it personal, just do a better job this time. Use the Columbia Pictures artwork - please. And this time, don’t put out a censored version of the movie for absolutely no reason - that was even dumber than using that yellow poster. We all want the same thing here - to see the film succeed.
I know what I’ll be doing at 2:45 AM.

Die Movie Voiceover Guy, die. The tagline was just awful. Sony Classics, I grant you permission to deviate from the Columbia Pictures marketing materials on this one.
They’re just lucky that looked really damn cool. Stephen Chow gets a whole lot of respect from me for consistently refusing to spoil the entire plot of the movie in his trailers - this is a trend that has increased in direct proportion to the amount of clout he wields, so it stands to reason that he’s directly behind it. He’s good at giving you just enough information to grab you, but not nearly enough to piece it together. I like that approach. But that tagline made me cringe. Does this guest-star Cuba Gooding Jr. or something? Kid looks like he’s gonna deliver the goods. Stephen Chow’s secret weapon is his terrific eye for casting the right people in the right roles.

Teaser looked good. The kid was very funny in the end and I loved how it looked like he was miming the song used in the trailer.
I doupt that the “tagline” (you’re talking about the “In space...” line right?) is something that will be used in the marketing but rather a joke used in the trailer.

Niceeeeee! I want to see this in glorious Quicktime now thundering down or blasting inside a movie theater. Beautiful choice of music and visuals with enough trademark Chow humor to get my hopes up even more. Looks like the official URL for the film is dropped at the end (will have to keep a watch for what goodies start showing up there). Mucho thanks for the tip on this one!!!

this is the second time he spoofs 2001 (here, it’s with the music). in Shaolin Soccer, the bald monk head aligned with the football in the intro is straight out of 2001.

YES, great point! I want to see this movie now, back to back with Out of the Dark!

Yes that’s what I meant by “tagline” - not an appropriate use of the term, I admit.
