South Park creators to do Kaiju film?

Ooh. I’ve just read that Matt Stone and Trey Parker have two films in preparation with Paramount Films. Ignoring the news about the first one, another high-school comedy film, and moving onto the very interesting news about making a movie titled ‘Giant Monsters Attack Japan!’.

They plan to follow with “Giant Monsters Attack Japan!,” a film scripted by J.F. Lawton ("Under Siege") that will combine live-action with the “rubber suit” techniques made popular in Asian imports like “Godzilla”. Parker will direct each film and Stone produce; both will work on the scripts with the writers.

Parker and Stone, I have felt, have always had their finger on the cultural pulse of their surroundings so their films have always been interesting, if not damn funny. They’re also not afraid to make fun of anyone or anything so nation of Japan beware.

    Sounds very good indeed. Being a huge Kaiju fan I look forward to their monster mash. It will be interesting to see how they pull that off.
