I’m sure some of you here know the melancholy pop band Sigur Ros which along with Bjork is Iceland’s biggest musical export. The four boys have been busy recording a new album lately and last summer they took the time to tour the country and play for the locals in unlikely venues and isolated areas which ended in the capital of Reykjavik before almost 40 thousand people. They also had the great idea to film the whole tour and the results of that, called “Heima” or “Home”, will be premiered at the Reykjavik International Film Festival on the 27th of September.
A website has been put up for the occasion and although there is nothing there except the gorgeous trailer you should do yourself a favor by checking it out. It’ll do you good.

Based on the trailer, the film looks to be as much a lovesong to Iceland’s natural beauty as it is a tour chronicle. Not that I’m complaining… I’ll spend a couple of hours staring at Iceland’s beautiful countryside.

This reminds me of Pink Floyd Live In Pompeii. Of course Sigur Ros’ sound has always reminded me of pink floyd.
I love sigur ros and am very interested in Iceland so I will check this movie out. Thanks Swarez
