Does Russia finally have a full on slasher film to call its own? Looks that way. Dead Daughters could have fit the bill had it opted to play straight for the throat rather than opting to take the arthouse route and Trackman certainly had elements but was too jumbled up to really work but now there is S.S.D. and it looks as though this one is going for it and going all out. I know literally nothing at all about the plot of this one - any Russian speakers out there who could help out, it would be greatly appreciated - but it looks to be an exceptionally well shot spin on the standard ‘group of teens picked to bits by an unstoppable assailant’ variety of slasher picture. The synopsis:
Abandoned pioneer camp. Extreme reality-show. 5 guys, 5 girls and mysterious killer, as if he materialized from children’s scary tales. Coffin on wheels. Bus with black curtains. Red cookie with strange taste. And the dreadful car with S.S.D. on index plate.
