Production I.G. Prince Of Tennis : The First Game. No, Hear Me Out, Looks Good…

Todd and everyone else at Twitch are probably sitting seeing this thinking “Prince Of F**king Tennis? Has He F**king Lost It?”. Hmmm… Maybe, but the thing is the animation is by Production I.G and they don’t get involved in many things, and what they have touched has been top-notch.

Anyhow, even though i’ve seen the site before, you can go over there are check out the trailer to at least look at the masters of animation in action.

The film opened yesterday in Japan.

For those who didn’t know, there’s a whole series of this with 169(!) episodes.
From what I’ve seen, the sports anime are actually quite interesting; somehow, the Japanese have managed to make something like Go (the boardgame) interesting to watch - it’s really quite astounding if you think about it.
This movie probably won’t be bad but not expecting it to be great either - plus you can probably get more out of it if you’ve seen the series which I haven’t.

Also.. you people seem to be pretty focused on Production IG. There *are* other studios out there you know
Although I must admit that Productiong IG seems to be pumping out the most major name titles with international interest at the moment..

the anime is ok, it’s sorta “girl” anime… but some of the tennis duels are interesting.... altho a full 2 hours of this might be ugh… zzzzzz

yeh i know. its not about the film / story this time though, i just like IG stuff. as for other studios, yeh i know there are a few really great ones… gonzo digimation for example, but i dont know of the great film makers other than IG and studio 4C…

Tezuka is very cool. and the anime is cool too. this is the best anime I have seen.

I love this anime!!! It’s funny and exciting… The mix of different elements are exact and equal… Their techniques are definetely amazing and This is one of the best anime that I have ever watched… I love this anime… It’s a must see flick…
