House
Now this is one of those films which I’ve heard so much about but have never actually seen, might have something to do with hockey not being popular here in Iceland. But this is a big cult classic film in the states and the Alamo Drafthouse will be hosting a screening for it at the Chaparral Ice-rink in Austin august 16th.
Artist Jon Smith apparently hounded the people in charge to make this poster because it’s his all time favorite movie. And the result is this baffling silk screen poster, yes it’s silk screened, that I’m sure is going to go down well with folks, I just wished I could see it up close and personal.

It’s an even bigger cult classic in Canada. If you are a suburban or rural male and under 50 odds are you’ve seen this film at some point.

I have yet to watch this but two of my friends consider it to be the best film ever made.I never watched it because I’m not into hockey but might check it out one day.

My buddy has the greatest poster for Slap Shot.
It’s awesome enough that I’ve registered a username just to post about it, but it’s awesomeness lies in the simpleness: it’s just a photo of the Hanson brothers. I’ve gotta take a picture of it, I’ve never seen it anywhere before.
Parts of the movie were filmed in the Utica Memorial Auditorium, one of our city’s few and questionable claims to fame. Sick flick though.
