Could this actually be a film not as awful as the fist one? We will know soon enough, but my incredibly sexy and wise little finger tells me not to hold my fetid breath.
the first one grew on me very much over repeated viewings. One of the few comic adaptation movies that i enjoy more each time rather than the others like X-men or Spiderman that bore me more and more on repeated viewings....
After looking at the initial stills i’ve seen i am very very much looking forward to this. Looks like all the parts that made Hellboy such a good time mixed with some Pan’s Labyrinth looking stuff.
I’m quite the opposite. I wasn’t too into seeing the original Hellboy, but was a big, big fan of Del Toro and went on that auspice alone. So I was actually pleasantly surprised!
I’ll second the first one growing on you; and he clearly had to compromise less on this one (no boring audience identification character fuckwit producers like to add and no one on earth has ever actually identified with).
It’s funny, it sounds like a lot of people had the same reaction to the first. Del Toro + Graphic novel = huge expectations, but on first viewing it was underwelming, but now one of my favorite comic book adaptions. Can’t wait for the second. The giant monkey monster thing in the trailer looks like it jumped straight out of Mike Mignola’s drawings!

The first one is fantastic.
This will be better.

At first I didn’t care too much for the first one, too high expectations I guess but then I watched it again and I loved it.
Look forward to this one, even though the villains are elves.

This one looks even better!
