Official website and teaser trailer for Norihiro Koizumi’s A SONG TO THE SUN (TAIYÔ NO UTA), starri

The official website for Norihiro Koizumi‘s A Song to the Sun (Taiyô no uta) has just gone online today, and there’s a downloadable teaser trailer (tokuhô) for the movie on that site.

A Song to the Sun stars Yui (who also composed and performs the movie’s theme song, “Good-bye days"), Takashi Tsukamoto, Kuniko Asagi, and Gorô Kishitani.

Shochiku Co. Ltd. (Shôchiku K.K.) is scheduled to release A Song to the Sun theatrically in Japan on June 17th of next year.

Koizumi’s previous directing credits include “Detective Q” ("Gyôretsu no dekiru deka") - one of the eleven shorts in the omnibus movie Mottomo kiken na deka matsuri. An English-subtitled version of “Detective Q” can be downloaded for free (e-mail address and postal code required), in the form of a 92.2 MB WMV file, from Cinequest Inc.’s Cinequest Online website.

Story:

A young high school girl Kaoru who is diagnosed with XP (Xeroderma Pigmentosum) cannot walk outside under the sun, or go to school. Her only relation to the world is her music which she performs on the streets at night, until she falls in love with Koji, a high school boy who passes her house every morning.

I really like YUI’s music and hope this movie comes out on DVD with English subtitles.
