Official Japanese SPL site with trailer

Just like my fellow bloggers here, I too fall under the “we love SPL” camp. For me personally, this is the best Hong Kong movie to come out last year. Heck, perhaps even the best in the last five years. The fight cheorgraphy by Donnie Yen blew my mind away but it was also the perfect marriage of the drama that drive the characters is what got me hooked. I absolutely love this movie. As mention before by Todd, the DVD is now available for pre-order. I highly recommend this DVD…

On a related note, the Official SPL Japanese site has turn up online with a trailer. Unlike the Hong Kong trailer, the Japanese version gives away too much footage then it should which may ruin the viewing experience. Watch at your own risk. If you already seen this movie, then it might be worthwhile to check out the trailer just to see how this movie is being market in Japan.

Media Suits will distribute SPL to Japan on March 4th 2006.

    I liked this film but it is far from being the BEST Hong Kong film in the past five years. I’d give that honour to Infernal Affairs. My major gripes with it are the Donnie Yen super make-you-retarded punch and the way Donnie runs up to Sammo before the final fight making it look like Street Fighter II. Despite these gripes I give major major props to the Yen vs. Jing battle.

    SPL is a great movie. The action is explosive! Do not miss this one. The alley fight was phenomenal. And the music that complemented the fight sequence in the alley is so soothing and sweet, that it seems “out of place” for a scene which contains so much raw anger but miraculously it works.
