Odagiri To Star In Kim Ki-Duk’s Next!

Gotta give Kim Ki-Duk credit.  Recognizing that audiences in his native Korea hate both him and his films, which are received with much more love overseas, he’s opted to simply go out and play to his strengths.  Hence his most recent project, Breath, featured stellar Taiwanese actor Chang Chen in the lead opposite a Korean actress and now word is out that he has cast Japanese actor Joe Odagiri - freshly married, to the dismay of legions of female fans - to star in his next.

Due to start shooting today the film is titled Bi-mong and, like Kim’s best work, apparently flirts with the boundaries between dream and reality.  According to Tokyograph the film “involves a man (Odagiri) who dreams that he causes a car accident. He discovers that an actual accident occurred at the place in his dream, and the police trace it to a woman with a sleepwalking disorder”.
