Now Fortified With More Gore!  Full ART OF THE DEVIL 3 Trailer Arrives!

Just because, you know, that initial shocking teaser wasn’t gory enough the full theatrical trailer for Thai horror Art of the Devil 3 has arrived in all its ghastly glory.  This is a significantly longer trailer than the first teaser and we’ve got it in very high quality, English subtitled form.  What you’ll immediately note from this is that the film is actually a prequel to the previous picture, which mean that Art of the Devil 3 occurs chronologically before Art of the Devil 2 while neither film has any plot relationship whatsoever to Art of the Devil 1.  Confused?  So am I, but don’t worry, it’s all about the nasty visuals with these films and this one has ‘em to spare.

You’ll find the new trailer along with a much higher quality version of the English subtitled teaser than the one that has been circulating online embedded in the Twitch Player below the break.

    Torture porn, yawn.

    Definitely nasty, which can be ok as long as there’s some kind of substance, but… this seems to have none.  Maybe that’s the point?

    Actually, the lead actress in this won the Thai equivalent of an Oscar for her performance in the last film.  She’s really good ...

    @Todd

    Whoa, really?  That’s pretty crazy!

    That makes the series intriguing at least (well, at least to someone who hasn’t actually seen any of them).  Kudos to the Thai for seeing a great performance in something that’s clearly over the top.  And even more kudos to the actress for committing to it.

    Pretty rare to see those kind of accolades given in this type of film. god knows it wouldn’t have been viewed that way in the US…

    Didn’t Anthony Wong win the HK equivalent of an Oscar for his performance in THE UNTOLD STORY?

    Actually, the tale of Mamee’s “Thai Oscar” is a sordid one, almost as gory as this film. Mamee never did win the award. She was up for a Subhanahongsa Award (the Thai equivalent of the Oscars), but only as best supporting actress, which was ridiculous. She was kept out of the best actress category to ensure a win for the nine-year-old daughter of the awards-body’s then-president, the boss of Sahamongkol Film. Mamee and her studio, Five Star, boycotted the awards that year. As partial vindication, the Bangkok Critics Assembly (the equivalent of, I guess, the Golden Globes) nominated Mamee as Best Actress, but that award ended up going to the lead actress in Midnight My Love.
