NIFFF 2008 - Jaume Balagueró Talks [REC] 2

I sat down with [REC] co-director Jaume Balagueró yesterday to try and get some of the myths on the first film addressed and to see what information he could share on [REC] 2. What follows is part 1 of a multi-part video interview done at the 2008 NIFFF (Neuchatel International Fantastic Film Festival) in Switzerland.

In the clip we discuss:

[REC] discussion includes:
* Just who is that person in the attic and where does the other person come from?
* Behind the Scenes discussion on the final scene and “falling scene”
* How fake scenes were shot to keep the actors never knowing what to expect next
* How throughout the actors were only given the script in small portions and often were given very little to go with during any one scene
Watch part one after the link bump.
I should also note during the attic scene Jaume Balagueró confirmed there is no intentional hole in the wall and it was not their intent at all to in any way to have that as a possibility. So if you see clips or discussion of this online, no it’s just a random coincidence. The main things I walked away from on [REC] 2 after hearing him discuss it was that it would be the scariest film we have seen in some time, it would be done to be even more immersive and very epic.

If you watch closely on the top left in some of these clips you can see Francesco Barilli and Lamberto Bava.
