New Transsiberian Trailer

It seems like we have been following Brad Anderson’s latest film Transsiberian forever, and although there seems to be a limited release on track for August 1st. Here is hoping that this character driven thriller will expand beyond New York and LA domestically. This is a real shame, because the cast (Woody Harrelson, Ben Kingsley, Emily Mortimer, Eduardo Noriega, and underrated Thomas Kretschmann) seems well considered and relatively (I’m looking at you Ben) restrained. The word at Sundance was largely positive on this one and the phrase ‘Hitchcockian’ was thrown around a bit.
Anderson is one of those guys with a filmography that will sneak up on you with its quality. Everyone of his films is a hidden gem. Too bad that he is often doing work-for-hire gigs at HBO (Deadwood, The Wire, etc.) Please Filmax, don’t let Transsiberian fall through the cracks.
