New Trailer for Filmax Animation’s Donkey Xote

Over the years, Filmax Animation of Spain has produce a number of animated films including Gisaku and Nocturna. The studios next film is Donkey Xote, a CG animation intended for release in 2006 but now its finally seeing the light of day really soon. At the Filmax channel on youtube, an english & spanish version of the trailer and a music video is available for viewing.
This is a true adventure comedy. The donkey, Rucio, tells the ”true“ story of Don Quixote and defends the idea that he wasn’t mad, but in reality, Quixote was a very intelligent, passionate and enthusiastic fellow. We then follow Don Quixote, his ”squire“, Sancho Panza (Quixote’s best friend and the wealthiest man in town), Sancho’s donkey, Rucio (who wants to be a horse) and a real horse, Quixote’s faithful steed, Rocinante (who hates leaving his stable) on their adventure to duel the ”Knight of the Moon“ where, if Quixote wins the duel the true identity of Dulcinea will be revealed.
Donkey Xote is schedule for release in cinemas across Spain on December 5th.

Where’s NOCTURNA, anyway? That looked excellent all those years ago when I first saw the trailer. Nothing like this.

They stole donkey personage from Shrek. At least it looks very similar.
