Want to know what’s happening in the Japanese film industry? Go here. Yeah, that just went straight into my bookmarks file ...
There’s an awful lot of stuff in there ... the Bayside Shakedown spin off flick and the Azumi sequel that people have been talking up for a little while, a ridiculous modern army vs Samurai war picture, and a sign that KSS Films have finally realized that no budget need not equal no story and lousy film work. That’s just on first perusal, though ... click around and let us know what you find ... I gotta stop before my head explodes ...

That army vs samurai film looks awfuly like a film with the same subjecy matter that was made in the late 60’s or 70’s in Japan, called Timeslip I think.

The film in question, which was directed by Masaaki Tezuka (Teduka Masaaki), is entitled “Sengoku jieitai 1549”. It’s a remake of the 1979 film G.I. Samurai (Sengoku jieitai) - a.k.a. Timeslip and Time Slip - which was directed by Kosei Saito (Saitou Kousei).
