Good news here for fans of Japanese animator Makoto Shinkai int he form of an upcoming Hong Kong DVD release of his latest work, 5 Centimeters Per Second.  It’s hits November 16th, is English friendly and comes in both regular and limited editions, both of which come at very low cost.  Very nice.

Anime fans should also note that there’s a new Hong Kong edition of Brave Story hitting DVD at the same time priced FAR lower than the Japanese release, so if you’ve been holding out now’s a good time.

Thanks Todd. I heard ADV is supposed to also have some theatrical screenings throughout November/December as well, so looking forward to seeing any updates on that too!

I loved this film. I’ll pick this up along with Tekkon Kinkreet and The Girl Who Leapt through time.

Agreed Hyde. This movie was awesome. Great...no cancel that....SUPERB visuals.!!! The girl who leapt through time was also nice, altho not that visually stunning as 5cm. But as Nemo says, ill wait for the special edition smile

Agreed. I decided to just pick up the special editions of Tekkon Kinkreet and 5 centimers and just wait for an American release of The Girl Who Leapt Through Time since I wasn’t planning on the limited edition for it.
