Well, there’s been speculation about who would land the role of Doronjo opposite the heroic couple, played by Sho Sakurai and Saki Fukuda, going back before the holiday season [Don Brown for one]. And despite early apprehension that these were just rumors it is now fact that actress Kyoko Fukada [Kamikaze Girls and Dolls], will play the villainous Doronjo in Takashi Miike’s adaptation of the popular anime Yatterman. Now, all that is left is her henchmen, Boyacky and Tonzler.

Boyacky is Katsuhisa Namase(Gokusen live action drama and the Trick series. Nice casting) and Kendo Kobayashi (comedian/guest host in Hey3!) will play Tonzler. Source: my blog members but I believe a newslink will pop up soon.
From what I gather, they’ve already started shooting.

Thanks for this bit of news Mack! Fukada usually plays spunky, girlie-girls like in the J-Dorama “Fighting Girl” or “Strawberry on the Shortcake” so I’m kind of surprised that she’s playing the seductively evil and quirky Doronjo. She’s also a bit tiny at 163 cm (5.3’). I always imagined Doronjo to be like Uma Thurman somewhere in the 6 ft range. I still wish Anna Tsuchiya (168 cm/5.5’) would have been considered. We will see how Fukada plays as a villain.

Thanks also to ilovetofu for the news regarding Boyacky and Tonzler. Pretty unconventional casting rumors if true but I guess they fit the part:

Can’t wait for this movie to come out.
