Marking a major change in Korea’s film release patterns this summer saw just one Korean horror film hit the scene as opposed to the normal onslaught and that one film was slasher picture Gosa or Death Bell, which went on to become a major surprise hit. To set a bit of context, gosa are the incredibly important - and incredibly stressful - midterm tests that all Korean students must write and this picture plays on that pressure by unleashing a violent killer into the students’ midst.
The film hits DVD in Korea in just a few days and English subtitles are included. Check the trailer below the break.

This movie was a big surprise! And I mean that in a good way. I thought this was going to be one of a dozen, but this was actually a really GOOD horror/thriller. Definitely recommendable.
