So much for “Rain’s” big debut in an American film. Iron Man is the #1 film for 2 weeks in a row.
Speed Racer has not played well for my University Freshmen students. They did not understand the film and when I ask them about “Rain”, they have quickly changed the subject.
The big surprise was the #9 film “Unforgettable, It played on 165 screens and did not break 23,000 tickets sold. The movie’s preview looked good but the Korean public has rejected it.
These totals do not include the tickets sold for May 12th National Holiday.
Opening this week is The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian and Penelope

I read somewhere that SPEED RACER was doing fairly well in Korea. Guess I heard wrong. Though if you asked American college freshmen about the American pretty-boy pop star equivalent to Rain… I suspect you’d get, at best, a similar rapid subject change. At best.
