Will it be better than Glory To The Film Maker? I certainly hope so.  Japanese comedian / writer / painter / actor / director / whatever else he may want to be Takeshi Kitano unveiled his latest film Achilles to Kame (Achilles and the Tortoise) yesterday.  As has been his pattern with recent efforts he actually shot this one in secret before announcing it to the public - shooting began in February - and he’s aiming to debut the picture in Venice.  The plot?  Kitano stars as a talentless painter in a domestic comedy, the film using a backlog of Kitano’s actual paintings that had been piling up around the house.  This would be the third entirely self referential picture in a row for Kitano, here’s hoping he isn’t becoming terminally self-absorbed ...

I’d love for him to get back to the yakuza genre.

He is Buddah though. Interested as always since I LOVED Takeshi’s and still wanna see Glory despite the good word being bad.

watch it, then you will think the way i’m thinking.
the main problem with the movie is that takeshi realized that he can do anything he wants on screen. i mean ANYTHING. i’m not tolerating that selfishness.

I hpe it’s gonna be better than Kantoku Banzai. I should be interesting to heard some Joe Hisaishi in this next movie. I miss the classic Kitano.
