Johnnie To’s SPARROW Available On DVD!

Good news for Johnnie To fans! His latest effort - the long in production pickpocket drama Sparrow - is due to hit DVD in Hong Kong on August 23rd and English subtitles are included. Do I like this movie? Why, yes I do, and rather a lot. You can check out the trailer below the break and hit the link below for my full review.

Boy that was fast… Just a couple of days ago it screened at cannes with an overwhelming reception, and now a dvd is set to release.... That is awesome…

Cannot wait to snag a copy. Love this film and wish To weren’t taking a break to do his upcoming projects but eh, if it’s this good, I’m more than will to wait.
Wonder how that remake of LE CERCLE ROUGE will look......and why the heck To wants Orlando Bloom of all people.

Wow. That trailer absolutely reminds me of the trailers Hollywood put out in the 1940s and 1950s. The text and transitions look like something out of the To Catch a Thief trailer or a Hope/Crosby road movie. Does the movie also have such a retro Hollywood feel?
