It’s a basic rule of warcraft:  whoever’s got the best toys wins.  It’s true now, it was true when the longbow effectively ended the aristocracy by allowing peasants to take down armored knights and it was true in ancient Korea.  Kim Yoo-Jin’s upcoming war epic The Divine Weapon taps into this basic truth by telling the story of an overmatched Korean army trying to develop an explosive arrow launcher to hold off the expansionist Ming Dynasty army with - ha, ha - explosive results.  The first teaser has just arrived for this and it shows off some pretty impressive production values and a very strong principal cast.  You’ll find it below the break in the Twitch Player.

Ai, I love these kind of movies. Hopefully better than those HK mediocore ones like Three Kingdoms: Resurrection of the Dragon…

It doesnt look too shabby but I am not so sure about the story. It seems like its trying to use Korean nationalism to garner Box office Success(like D-war).The expansionist Ming? If you have read your history, you would know that the Ming did not invade Korea. In fact, they helped defend Korea against the invading Japanese during the Imjin war. As far as explosive arrow launchers go, I suppose they are referring to the Korean Hwacha - which was basically a variation on an earlier Chinese invention. If this is supposed to be historically accurate then they are severely distorting history. I suppose it is supposed to be fiction

DAm those costumes are extremely clean, the dry cleaning bill must be off the charts.
