Icelandic fantasy and Finnish horror.

Icelandic production company Kisi Production has posted a new trailer for their romantic comedy/fantasy film Dorks and Damsels on their website. Like I’ve said before about this film, it’s Iceland’s first foray in to fantasy film making and it will be very interesting to see how this will go down over here. The main actors are all huge stars over here but the thing is that local celebs have really no draw with viewers, unless they are from Hollywood. I think this will draw viewers mostly because of the fantasy element and people will want to compare it to Lord of the Rings, as unfair as that is.

Incidentally Kisi are co-producing a Finnish horror film that revolves around the metal band Lordi, which are releasing an album in the states as we speak. Some of our friends in Europe might know of the band which famously won the Eurovision song contest last year but for those who don’t know it think of if Kiss had made out with Gwar and this would be their love child. Check out their site which is full of music videos that show clearly where their influences comes from.
