Howls Moving Castle. by Hayao Miyazaki. R2 Japan DVD Details and Firm Date.

Again, even though i’ve visited Nausicaa.net today (and yesasia.com), this turned up in the forums just now - courtesy of Madison (thanks). What can we expect then? Well, English Subtitles (thankfully), and remember its R2 and NTSC. 2-Disc Standard Edition, Audio in DD 2.0 and DD EX (Japanese), Audio in DD 5.1 (English), Storyboards, Trailers, Diana Wynn Jones Interview, Venice and USA Premier footage, Staff and Cast Interviews with those in the English Version. Product Code for this edition is VWDZ-8076 (rrp of 5k yen).

Special Edition is 4 Discs, so the contents are as above, except two additional disc gives (for the first one) French, Mandarin and Cantonese Dubs - plus more subtitle languages (not specified yet), and (for the second one) Moebius and Miyazaki interview, Documentary on the USA premier, Lassiter and Miyazaki meeting (again), Lecture by CG Director Mitsunori Kataama. Product Code for the Special 4 Disc Edition is VWDZ-8084, price is just shy of 9k yen.

The recently announced short films ‘Ghibli ga Ippai Special Short Short’ collection arrives the same day (November 16th 2005) with a Product Code of VWDZ-8078, and a price just shy of 4k yen. If you simply want the 2-Disc of ‘Howls’ and the ‘Shorts’ DVD, there’s a boxset holding both of these with a Product Code of VWDZ-8086 at 9k yen.

An expensive day, which ever option(s) you go for.

Damn that is going to be an expensive day.. not only getting those DVD’s, but my Mum and Partners Birthdays are Nov 14th too…
