Help Promote Twitch!

Hey there kids ... we gained a few new abilities recently when we switched our feed server - feed information is here - one of which is the ability to create self-updating banners that display the most recent headlines here at Twitch.  What would you do with such a thing?  Well, not much if you’re me but that’s because I spend all of my time here anyway so I already know what all the headlines are.  But if you’re the sort who lurks about on MySpace or Facebook you can embed the code of these into your page - anywhere you can use html, really - to share the headlines with people who visit your page.  This will, of course, make you beloved and adored by millions while also helping steer people this way.  Yeah, it’s late at night and I’m playing with some new toys ... if you want to play too, you can grab the code below ...

A 40px tall animator would be useful too. wink

  2. Todd Brown 08/28/2007 @ 5:04am

How wide?  I can make them to match any dimensions people would find useful, just let me know.

It’s up on the old MySpace page…

why can’t i change the dimensions in the embed tag?  there’s a lot of dead space on the right that i’d love to trim off for my myspace page so everything is the same width.  i changed the dimensions in the tag but nothing happened…how on earth is it 600 in height?  what are these dimensions coming from and what are they doing?

Well, this is a bit off-topic but I believe your best option for feed promotion would currently be to redirect requests for the old feeds to the new FeedBurner ones. It took me days to figure out the switch, August is a slow month, and I believe many people still don’t know about it or didn’t bother finding out wink

king:  the 600 dimension is for the ‘how to’ popup that explains how to add the animator, it’s not actually part of the animator itself.  You can omit that section entirely.  Un-select the ‘include a ‘grab this’’ box and it’ll give the code for just the animator alone.

If you want it in a different size just let me know and I’ll make another one.

I don’t have the most popular Myspace page, but I’ve got one on there.

    Just added a 468x40 option ...

@cheaplog: Thanks for the reminder. The redirects are in place now.

hey Todd, I’ll be happy to add a Twitch banner to my site http://www.tiffreviews.com/, but I’ll need a 150px width image… just in time for TIFF.

Thanks man!  Just made the 150.

  13. Janzki 08/30/2007 @ 12:09pm

Thanks, that 468x40 one is perfect. smile

Hi Todd - added the link to my own and Flashbang’s myspace page. At the moment I have no idea how to embed html into my website’s pages as they are built using SBI. However, we will have a links page shortly which will definitely include Twitch…

Hello Todd - As we are working on re-animating the Suspect website - we’ve added one of the small headline links to our Links page at SuspectVideo.com - and the colours fit in just nice.
