Guided by Voices : The Electrifying Conclusion. R1 USA DVD November 15th 2005.

Strange film? maybe… not seen it yet. 4 hours though, as you could always expect good value for money from a GBV gig or record. Only saw them a couple of times myself, a fan for a decade or more, but they do (or did) have a habit of doing a ‘World Tour of London’. Sometimes 30 tracks on one LP and more than 30 LPs (estimate) from their output in their various guises, so 4 hours should be effortless to fill.

Very ‘Beatles’ inspired in places, sometimes more variety than at other times, and always interesting even if it didn’t quite work for you. More rock ‘n’ roll in his little finger than anyone in the business, for my money at least, Robert Pollard continues solo. This final gig for GBV from the end of last year, at the end of their final tour ‘The Electrifying Conclusion’, would be a good insight - might be for fans only.
