Because you can never have enough movies based on video game franchises HK director Gordon Chan [Fist of Legend] will add to the mire and direct an English-language, live-action adaptation of the videogame franchise King of Fighters. The screenplay is being written by Fearless scripter Chris Chow. Filming will begin early in 2008.

There has been no word on cast as of yet. Though I will say this, both of those men have been involved in projects with Jet Li. Jet, as we all know, is already familiar with brainless English speaking actioners. And he can beat the ever loving crap out of anyone. I don’t know the franchise at all. Would he be suitable for any role?

In fact, let’s start the speculation right now. Names people! Who would suit what role?

Jesus H Christ! Let movies be movies. Let videogames be videogames. I don’t even want to think how those HK people are going to rape this next videogame series *points to Avenging Fist, and that Wong Jing Street Fighter crapfest*

But anyways, here’s my casting call:

    Mai Shiranui - Noriko Fujiwara
    Kyo - Tak Sakaguchi
    Blue Mary - Kristen Bell
    Iori - Lee Byung Hyun

    I don’t have much ideas… -_____-

Godon Chan WAS behind Fist of Legend and Beast Cops, but those were in the 90s. Lately h cranked out Undercover Hidden Dragon, Mr. 3 Minutes. If he gets back in top form that’d be lovely, but I’m not counting on it…

A movie??? Live-ACTION??! This should’ve been CGI, I tell you. Nobody can play Mai, let alone someone LOOK like her (along with several other characters...).

And good lord....if it’s Live-Action, let it at least be BETTER than Crap Fighter: The Movie......PLEASE!

Now, who is this “Noriko Fujiwara” person?

Double AND triple post, guys girls wink

No one concerned about the fact that it will be english language? wink
This kind of eccentric fighting games don’t translate well at all to live action, if you ask me. Best leave it at that.

Oh and half of that cast you mentioned doesn’t speak english, as far as I know.

No...no...just NO. Who would be portraying Goenitz? And Yashiro? And Orochi? And Rugal?

I would like, drop dead if it was an (accurate) anime series, but please, leave video games alone. We have enough video game movies.

LOL! I was thinking the same thing. Halle Berry would be the ideal person to play as K’.
