Seems there’s some very good animators in Korea. Check the credits of a lot of Japanese stuff and you’ll see they’re a good place to farm stuff out to. I’ve seen little of it though, bought ’Aachi & Ssipak‘ and did a review around here - it’s good, a little crude (story-wise) and certainly nicely drawn, but overall it’s a little disappointing - and I’ve seen the old trailer for something called ’Cobby the Fox‘ (another Korean animated film) which looks very promising.

This one, ’Five Tailed Fox‘ I first saw the trailer for this morning (as far as I remember) and both Catsuka (where I saw it) and KFC Cinema have front-page links on now for the trailers appearance. Nice - looks very much like (almost too much like) a Ghibli film, odd magical creatures, young female lead and so on - great quality animated features are always something I can do with more of, especially right now for some reason. Opens in Korea late January, looking for the DVD to appear a few months after that, hope to see more animated stuff out of Korea just for the different story styles and sensibilities if nothing else.

Like a Ghibli film with a lot more sound and fury (possibly signifying nothing)...but trailers vs. final product can be misleading.  I’d give it a whirl for the well above average-looking visuals.
