Sweeney Todd

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Malaysia is the secret weapon in the Asian film world. While many (most) of the big players around the world haven’t really taken notice yet the past few years have seen Malaysia develop a very strong indie film community, with a string of film makers turning out broadly acclaimed, very touching human dramas. Yasmin Ahmad is still the best known of the lot - and deservedly so - but there are more and Woo Ming Jin is climbing up through the ranks.
Woo’s feature film The Elephant and the Sea has been a hit on the festival circuit - playing more than twenty international festivals and taking home major prizes in Torino and at the Cine Digital Seoul fest - but there hasn’t been a trailer available for it until just now. It’s a beautifully shot little family drama and you can check out both the teaser and a trailer below the break in the Twitch Player.

I composed it.
(Or rather, I did what Jonny Greenwood did with the There Will Be Blood soundtrack. :D )

Oops, shouldn’t claim sole credit as the composer.
In the film festival version, the film is noted for its sparing use of music tracks. There’s only one guitar track used in the middle and the end of the film, and that one’s by Ronny Khoo.
We decided to refine the film for its theatrical release, so I myself put together a few more tracks for the film.
