First Trailer for Shinji Aoymama’s ‘Sad Vacation’ with Asano & Meiko Kaji.

For some reason the Official Site isn’t the first to host this. Instead, they’re pointing the way to Goo - a familiar site to those sifting through Japanese language stuff on a regular basis - who are hosting the thing exclusively as from today and for the next seven days. Mind you, if you can get it to work (streaming ASX) withouth it doing one or more of the following : crashing your browser, and possibly stammering to a hault relatively quickly too… even if you do have nice speady broadband, then you’re a better person than I am. Looking out for an alternative source for this itrailer n the near future then.

Here’s that synopsis again, hoping to dig-up some more on this now it’s almost just around the corner, ”With a mother who left him and a mentally ill father that committed suicide, Kenji grew up with no parents. Working as a designated driver, he meets Mamiya one day. At Mamiya’s transport company, a variety of people on the run or with pasts they don’t talk about exist together without scrutinizing their lives. Due to a certain coincidence, Kenji intuitively senses that Mamiya’s wife Chiyoko is his mother who left him. From some certain speculation, the two start living together. Does their strong, inescapable bond make them do it? Is his mother playing with fate as Kenji must choose to oppose or be cursed by his blood relative? What awaits these two as they live together?”

    Don’t know what on earth was going on in the trailer but it looks good, the cast looks great and I love Aoyama’s stuff so I’m looking forward to it, hopefully it gets a subbed release.

    Anyone who has problems with playing streams, I can recommend the following program:

    After you installed it on your computer, all you must do is to paste the URL in the field “open”, select an entry and then click “go”. The media file will directly saved on your computer and it runs without problems.

    Am I the only one that didn’t see Meiko Kaji in that trailer anywhere? :(

    No your not adgy and I couldn’t find a cast list that includes her either.

    If she is in the movie she doesn’t seem to have a very prominent role given her absence from the trailer.

    Kaji Meiko was supposed to be in the film, her big acting comeback, but for one reason or another it didn’t happen. I’m pretty sure Ishida Eri took over the role (of the mother) that Kaji was supposed to play. She looks great, but one can only wonder how it could’ve been.
