While those of us outside of Asia are still wondering when we’ll be able to see John Woo’s massive, two part spectacle Red Cliff - note to the impatient:  the Hong Kong DVD and BluRay releases are both fully English friendly and region free - fans of the hugely successful Part One are gearing up for the imminent release of Part Two.  And helping them to do that is the freshly released first trailer.

What to expect from this one?  Well, it’s a huge budget war film, people, and what happens at the end of wars?  Fighting.  Lots and lots of fighting.  Which you’ll find in the trailer below the break.

This first film was a little bit slow in my opinion, until the final battle sequence, that made it all worth it.  I loved that big battle, thought it was great and since there will be less exposition and more action in part 2, I have high hopes.

    hmm no soccer game?

First one was blah, and only came to life in the battle scenes. As the first poster said, Woo should just focus on the action.

story was ok and decent. nothing to phone home about. but the action was very good. TURTLE POWER !!!! (john woo seemed to have made his ninja turtles movie after all). really looking forward to it

I loved the first one.The sound track is awesome, battle sequence is genuine since we can see new moves from a massive war zone as in some epics movies.
Story might be slow but as part of a trilogie (is it?)let it flow (well the whole baby horse born was kind of useless to me). I liked how battle revolved around each generals skills^^
Hope part 2 will ve out in 2009
