Into the Faraway Sky
While we wait to see what has been done with the live-action adaptation of Blood: The Last Vampire we are ‘treated’ with an underwhelming promotional image, the first for the film. I say underwhelming because where the hell is her sword!?! That’s it? Chun Ji-hyun as the Vampire Saya with her co-stars JJ Field and Liam Cunningham standing in front of the moon with a quasi-neato bat effect in it? Where’s the damn sword?

That looks absolutely terrible.

Likewise; it looks like something you’d see for promoting local theatre. The guy in the left looks bored, Chun Ji-hyun looks non-plussed and the guy on the right is, I think, smirking. It doesn’t have any edginess or mystery to it. Lets hope the promotional material gets better.

Photoshop at its worst. The lighting on each character is different. The size ratio is off. Gianna looks dwarfed by the others and a couple sizes smaller. Damn obvious and a damn shame.

Thanks Mack for this bit of news! I agree with everyone, this first promotional image doesn’t inspire any type of excitement or confidence in the film project. I fear “Blood” may be another “League of Extraordinary Gentlemen” or “Van Helsing” failure. I hope this is not the case but it will be interesting to see what additional information and/or pictures surface.

Haha that’s disasterous XD

“The Last Vampire movie”
Damn, you got my hopes up!

I bet that’s a fake, made by someone with bad photoshop skills using on-set pictures.

Not as bad as it’s being made out to be (though those bats look like a straight-up lift from one of the BATMAN BEGINS posters, not sure which). It’s obviously early and incomplete artwork that was never supposed to be seen by the likes of you and I. I’d bet money it’s an incomplete or test poster, actually - a fake would look more “finished”. Look at the moon, how the bats fade away on a diagonal line, probably some sort of rooftop. I don’t even think those are on-set pictures of the actors, they looks more like wardrobe test pictures to me. On set pictures tend to feature “acting!”, where the above pictures definitely look like expressions worn by someone trying one the 16th pair of pants in a row - oddly, that collection of bored and perplexed expressions works for me in a weird sort of BUSTER KEATON: THE LAST VAMPIRE way. I can say I rather like the direction they’re hinting at here; this is far too incomplete for me to bash. The sword will probably be superimposed in there somewhere, though I like the idea of a weaponless poster. Makes you wonder what sort of toys they’re gonna bust out with…

(and make no mistake - a hand-painted poster would be much, much better than anything they can fart out in Photoshop.)
