Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
First Official Still for Imagi Animation Studio’s ASTRO BOY

Creative Director of Imagi Animation Studios Felix Ip has posted on his blog site the first official still for the upcoming CGI animated film Astro Boy. Keep in mind that this is only a work in progress image from the teaser and may not reflect the final look of the film. Based on an anime classic by the legendary Osamu Tezuka, the sci-fi animation is Imagi’s third theatrical film, following TMNT and Gatchaman also already in production.
Astro Boy tells the story of a powerful robot boy created by a brilliant scientist in the image of the son he has lost. Our hero journeys to find acceptance in the human world, and ultimately discovers true friendship as he uses his incredible powers to help others and save Metro City from destruction. Colin Brady (Toy Story 2, Everyone’s Hero) directs, and Maryann Garger is the producer.
The film is slated for release in 2009.
