WALL-E
Every time Kim Ki-Duk comes back with a new film it’s always an event. Event because the press tries to reveal something about the film, but it’s difficult since Kim has pretty much severed ties with them—except a selected few who don’t ask him ‘those’ questions, like super-veteran Jung Sung-Il. But even though he’s never been too popular in Korea, he clearly has his fans, as the petition to see a domestic release for his latest film ÏãúÍ∞Ñ (Time) shows. Now at over 10,000, this movement might actually convince Kim (whose Kim Ki-Duk Films produces) to release the film, albeit with a limited scope.
Still, we’re dealing with an important director, at least in the eyes of many ‘big suits’ of the Festival circuit, so the lack of information—textual or visual—about the film will be certainly a little disappointing for his fans. We have a subtitled Trailer in the Databank, but stills are hard to come by, which is why a recent Yahoo Korea article with a few new stills from the film becomes instantly interesting. I have no idea if this will release in Korea, and how long it’ll take to surface on DVD, as essentially Kim controls everything here (might actually surface on TV before a DVD release), but in the meantime, here’s a look:
