Finally! A Full, Theatrical Trailer For Shane Meadows’ This Is England!

Dead Man’s Shoes director Shane Meadows already has a fistful of stellar films to his name but I have no hesitation whatsoever in saying that the highly autobiographical This Is England is, by far, his strongest work. The film is an outright masterpiece, balancing nostalgia with an unflinching gaze at both a troubling time in Meadows’ own life and a very disturbing segment of English society. I flat out adore this film and now there is finally a proper trailer to look at. It doesn’t quite do the film justice since the power of the piece comes from getting to know the characters as it builds, but it comes probably as close as you can in just a couple minutes.

My review here.

looks like a few other things—Mike Leigh’s Meantime with Tim Roth—BUT still looks fantastic.

I don’t understand why A Room for Romeo Brass is not on DVD in the United States?

Thank God for Brits living in the US and having an all-region/PAL-to-NTSC player!
