Peeping Tom
Or, at least, the first trailer is.
With The Descent Brit director established himself, in my mind at least, as one of the top two or three English language genre film directors working today so to say my expectations for his new post apocalyptic sci-fi action/horror hybrid are running high is a wee bit of an understatement. Did their really have to be a car tie-in? In a gritty, apocalyptic dystopia?

Also, did this trailer stir up memories of Escape from New York/L.A. in anyone else? (pardon the “their” error in the previous post)

I love you Neil Marshall.
Arch Stanton 01/15/2008 @ 6:23pm
I really liked DOG SOLDIERS and I loved the DESCENT and I was liking the trailer even though the first part resembled 28 WEEKS LATER then ALIENS. It was right after that part when it became ESCAPE FORM NEW YORK meets ROAD WARRIOR that my expectations started to slump.
Based on what Marshall has been able to do previously with genre cliches I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and hope it’s a lot better than that trailer implies. The second part of that trailer just left me feeling like I was watching some generic genre film from 20 years ago.

Nice guys, I also could of done with the Bentley logo, but guess its price you pay when your making big budget films, how can this not be one entertaining ride.

Yeah, Escape from New York definitely came to mind. Is Bob Hoskins the new Lee Van Cleef?

I’m totally with Stanton except for the part about loving DESCENT. And giving Marshall the benefit of the doubt.

Wow. Looks likes a big-budget PM Entertaiment film… not sure that’s necessarily a bad thing, just a first impression. After THE DESCENT, Marshall gets the benefit of the doubt in my book this time.

Buckets of fun. No matter what other film it looks like it still looks like a lot of fun. Nice.

Doomsday looks absolutely awful. I’m a bit stunned about how bad it looks. The lead actress, I dont know her name, acts like she was carved from a beech tree.
